Renovation Art Show; Thank you!

Last week I received my drawings back from Renovation.
It turned out that 5 out of 7 pieces for sale were sold.

...Wow. Simply WOW.

So I would like to thank the 5 wonderful people who kindly gave my drawing a home. :-)
(If you are reading here and had any problem with the art, please let me know. I definitely provide After-sales service happily!)

Art for Sale; Renovation 2011 Art Show

As I have put a short notice on my website, I will have my drawings displayed for sale at the Art Show in this year's Worlcon; Renovation 2011.
Unfortunately I will not be attending the con myself, but mailed them in.

List;
"Black Knight in Hiding"
"Tournament""
"Brian de Bois-Guilbert"
"Anglo-Saxon Warrior"
"Leonidus vs Tiger"
...and three more.

All original ink, and one pencil, drawings.
Maybe I set the starting price (for bidding) too high even for original drawing... mmm oh well. Yes I'm a bit nervous...not that I care much about the sales or price,
but, the first time? Always makes you nervous, isn't it. ;-P

Anyway, please come and have a look! They are so messy you'll laugh.

Worldcon Art Show

So... I've applied for the Art Show at Worldcon (Renovation).

Unfortunately I can not attend the con itself, but will send my art to exhibit.

Hopefully I'll manage all the shipping and such, along with finishing new works in a few weeks... (!)
Mmm I'll see.

Website and Another Bookmark

Tweaked my website a bit. Some sketches are uploaded. Good.

And I made another bookmark, or rather, doodled on the back of a paper strip while reading "The Namesake" again.

It's a fake Wessex Banner... under a concept "what if someone who doesn't have much clue drew a Wessex Banner?"
Ha ha.
It must be a white dragon and a cross, by the way.

Twitter

Just to let you know, now I have my Twitter account...
I must admit it's a bit embarrassing to start Twitter in 2010 instead of '06 or '07, but anyway recently I'm re-watching and re-reading Ivanhoe book and films and couldn't resist the urge to tweet my joy while enjoying them. Ha ha.
Anyway since nobody's reading this blog, it'll be a stealth account, too.

Website Update

New art is added to my website.
A quick sketch of Brian de Bois-Guilbert a.k.a. Man in Love from Ivanhoe.

An impressive character, he has.

Russian Ivanhoe Film

I've been rereading  Ivanhoe from the very first chapter and totally enjoying it.

Also, shame I didn't know about this film until recently but anyway I've just watched the Soviet film version of Ivanhoe "The Ballad of the Viliant Knight Ivanhoe (Баллада о доблестном рыцаре Айвенго" (1982) for the first time and liked it a lot.
Of course the story is trimmed and modified, and there is even a long sequence (thinking of the entire length of the film) with ... looong eye-contact between Wilfrid and Rowena associated with an almost corny song, where they are not supposed to meet each other in the book.
And I daresay that the sound effect is totally Jim Henson's Labyrinth, e.g. fanfare sound at the lists is out of synthesizer.

But in whole, I liked it very much.
Wish I could understand Russian... or is there any translated version?
